It was all over the news for a while and then it stopped. Does anyone know what is happening in China since the quake hit?

thank you for your concern for chinese people. i'm a chinese though not from the quake-hit districts. just like almost every chinese, i pay close attention to what is happening in those places and try to think what i can do for the people there. how i wish i can be a volunteer and do something for my countrymen but i have no chance at present. now, with the help of the government and all the people in the country, people in the quake-hit places begin to reconstruct their home. we all give our best wishes to them.

Were the rescuers able to finally get to the worst hit areas? The last I had heard was that it was impossible to get through because of rock slides. I'm happy that people are rebuilding but what happened to the children who were orphaned? Where did the elderly people go who lost everything? I have so many questions. I feel so terrible for the people who went through this. It breaks my heart.

thanks to the armymen, many roads have been got through. helicopters are sent to those places which are too difficult to reach by land. many people are willing to adopt the orphans and someone suggests that the orphans and those parents who lost their children can make up a family but it isn't settled yet. i believe a plan which is good to the growth of the orphans will come out soon. other people who lost everything are also taken into consideration. my heart is also broken by the disaster my countrymen are suffering but at the same time i'm moved by the love given by the people both in our country and abroad including you my dear friend. thank you for your kindness.

I noticed that the news had dried up as well. Same with the situation in Burma. How strange that there has been no followup.

It's like they want you to hear the very worst news but leave you hanging when it comes to following up. Burma and Darfur are also on my list of 'What happened next?'
