Natural fibers that dry quickly?

I'm working on a commissioned project for an acquaintance of mine, and we're trying to determine what sort of natural fibers will dry most quickly. I've found that wool won't work for this purpose, and cotton seems to be too slow to dry. We'd rather avoid synthetic fibers, and it needs to be some sort of fiber that I can find as yarn. I'm thinking about experimenting with bamboo yarn, but that is more expensive than cotton. What natural fibers do you know of that air dry quickly?
