In your memory, what is the greatest wrestling match Randy Savage ever had? For me, the setting was Wrestlemania III, the main event was Hogan vs Andre the Giant, but the match who stole the show was Randy Savage vs Ricky the Dragon Steamboat. They had a 5-star match for the ages, and to this day, it is still in today's wrestling considered one of the best match, if not the best match of Wrestlemania's history.

hi baltek. i agree with you 100%. that intercontinental match between savage and steamboat in wrestlemania 3 was one of the greatest matches in wwe/wwf history. i do have another favorite and that is savage and ultimate warrior's retirement match. savage threw 5 or 6 big elbows from the top and still warrior was able to pull out a win. sherry lambasted the defeated savage and out comes miss elizabeth to help savage. savage proposes his love for elizabeth and the two got married at another ppv event.

Yeah, honestly that match was my 2nd choice, people were genuinely crying in the audience when Elizabeth saved Savage from Sherry. Sadly, while for the PPV they got married, at that time in real life their marriage was falling apart.

for me the best match was about 5-6 years ago. it was judgment day between the rock and triple-h. it was a classic. they were the cynosure of the wrestling world at that time. it was simply great. watching the two greats was like a heavenly experience.fantastic stuff.

I have to agree with Savage/Steamboat at WM III. High drama all the way, and still the match with the most believable amount of near-falls down the stretch that I think I have ever seen. It's amazing how well that match holds up, nearly 22 years later now (WOW, has it really been THAT long?!?). I couldn't give the exact date on this, but I also remember seeing some phenomenal battles between Savage and Jerry Lawler in Memphis back during the early 80s, before both guys exploded onto the national scene (well, Savage moreso). Savage also had some excellent tag matches with his brother Lanny against the legendary Rock n' Roll Express down there. Wild, wild brawls... I believe Savage became the first man to ever put another wrestler through a table when he piledrove Ricky Morton throw the wooden announcers stand. Talk about "hardcore"... and this was some 15 YEARS before that kind of stuff became routine in ECW...
