Paul Newman is such a fantastic actor. He's made many great films. One of my favorites is, "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid." He and Robert Redford really made a good pair in that movie. I loved the part where they both jumped off the cliff into the water far below. So, what is your favorite Paul Newman movie? Why? What was your favorite part? PearlGrace

Hi There, You are right...Paul Newman is a great actor. I love basically any movie he has ever been in. I would have to say my favourite is Cool Hand Luke. That was such an awesome movie! I also liked him in the Verdict although it was a totally different type of movie. Buth Cassidy and the Sundance Kid would be in third place for me. cheers,

Hello, golfproo. Well, "Cool Hand Luke" has been quite a popular film for Paul Newman. I still love watching that one when they show it on TV. I, too, like the "Verdict". And, I agree it was a different sort of film for him. Thanks for your response, golfproo. PearlGrace

Hi PearlGrace, I like this movie too. I like Paul Newman so much and I think that The Color of Money is the best from him. Butch Cassidy the second for me. Have a nice day.

Hello balasri. "Butch Cassidy" was definitely a wonderful movie. Yes, you are so right about the quality of the movies back in the 70s. There were some fantastic films made back then. I, too, love all these Hollywood stars that you mention--Newman, Redford, McQueen, Sharif, and Quinn. Makes me want to go back and watch all their old films. Thanks for your response, balasri. When I was in my 20's (64 now) Paul Newman and Robert Redford were my favorite actors. (Now it's Tom Hanks.) "From the Terrace," "Cat on a Hot TinRoof" were his best (in my opinion). I like the fact that he and Joanne Woodward have been married so long. It's a shame he is dying from lung cancer.

Most of my life, I've loved Paul Newman and Robert Redford! As a youngster I used to dream of dating them! When I got older, I realized they were old enough to be my father! Two great actors still! I also love the fact that Paul and Joanne have been married soooooooooooooo long! What's this about lung cancer? Didn't hear about that. I, too, am a fan of Tom Hanks! I think he is a brilliant actor!

Hello JanetBRudman and shadowbrook. To JanetBRudman: Yes, those are 2 very good Paul Newman films, particularly "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof." Joanne Woodward and Newman have certainly become the longest married couple in Hollywood, haven't they? I desperately hope that he will survive the lung cancer. Thanks for your response. To shadowbrook: One of Paul Newman's close friends recently came out in the news media and spoke of Newman suffering from lung cancer recently. However, Newman's reps refused to comfirm this information. There have been pictures of him circulating where he looks very thin. I am hoping, however, that he will fight the lung cancer and beat it. Thanks for your response, shadowbrook. PearlGrace

Thanks for the info and I hope he does do well with his cancer. We have a leukemia survivor in our family and are very happy for him and his family.
