Ladies out there, do you have menstrual cramps every month?

I do, and I suffer a lot. Too bad for the ladies, eh? I dread the first day of my period for it gives me terrible pain from dysmenorrhea.Right now I have that feeling and worse, I am here at the office working. I can't go back home because of too much work and my boss just returned from his trip abroad. To excuse myself after his 8 days' absence will be embarrasing. So here I am, tackling the pain and just relying on an ointment hoping the pain will subside.

a piece of advice because i suffered a lot of that too when I haven't given birth yet- if your period is regular, a week before your period, these are the things you should and should not do: Do's and Don'ts : 1) DRINK HOT milk or coffee or chocolate or whatever it is you drink in the morning for breakfast. This is to slowly breakdown the accumulated blood in our uterus which will become your monthly period. Avoid drinking very cold water during the day.. 2) DON'T EAT SOUR OR SPICY FOODS. Like green mango and/or viands with chili pepper. This tends to thicken the blood or coagulates. That's why we have cramps. 3) PUT HOT COMPRESS from navel going down. This will somehow relieve some of the pressure and pain. 4) TAKE LUKEWARM SHOWER at night. I have observed that when I take a cold shower at night, my period stops for a few minutes. This allows further clotting and so painful cramps. 5) IF POSSIBLE WEAR FLAT SHOES, only for the duration of the period. Wearing heels could take a toll on your legs and thus creating swollen varicose veins. 6) PUT YOUR FEET UP WHEN YOU GET TO REST OR WHEN YOU'RE AT HOME. Let the blood flow freely from your tired legs, one way to avoid those green and bloodred veins. Try these first and somehow you'll see the difference..Sorry it's a little long..I only said a piece of advice but it turned out a bit longer than expected... Lastly, have a baby..for all the cramps will disappear...

oh I almost forgot...if your period isn't regular, you can still feel it coming so you can do all those things too..But the advice "not to eat sour or spicy food" will be a little inaccurate, simply because it might be a little late before you feel slight cramps...and Because you're suppose to stop eating those a week or so..

This is really a great response, I'll mark it as the best! Thanks a lot and I'll try those after 3 weeks.I hope I'll be able to remember not to eat sour/spicy food because that's part of my daily menu..huhuhu!

I used to but since I gave birth, I have not experienced it anymore. I had really terrible dysmenorrhea and like you, I take pain relievers. I cannot tolerate the pain.
