can the human race survive the next hundred years?

Personally, I think that with the growth of true threats to survival, there has been growth of human ingenuity as well. We have yet to release a Frankenstein's monster of technology upon the world. Despite the stockpiles of nuclear weapons, there has been no global warfare. Medical research is in a renaissance of advance. Climate change remains a concern, but I believe that we are an adaptable species, as we have adapted before and will again. The larger question is how will humanity survive, which is what is asked. It's very likely that the resources of today may no longer be available in a century. But consider the resources available today that were not available a century before. As stated before, we are an adaptable species, and when one window of resources closes, it's likely that other windows will be openable. In a world that is in chaos politically, socially and environmentally, how can the human race sustain another 100 years. so what are your thoughts regarding the survival of the human race and humanity in particular.

this is the question that is haunting the mankind these days. unless we drastically take some steps we will not be able to control the damages that are caused by our activity. the politicians are just there to do politics and nothing else. they only listen to the industrialist and the ones who do lobby.

hi, you told of the politicians. it is true that they care only for their interests. care for the industry lobby as they help for their party funding and all. but despite all these some concrete measures are needed to be taken so that some good is done to the humanity and save the precious life on earth. anyways have a good day.

ya it is true and i too fell that mankind is facing the worst of the problems that it can face. with the increase in population not appearing to stop there are more and more drastic changes that are appearing that are having a disastrous effect on the people. the politicians are making tall claims and the work that is done is nothing compared with the work needed to do.

hello sagarsamrat, that is indeed true the more the population increases the more people will be using the resources that are available on this earth. as the resources are limited ... it will make more damage than it will do any good. anyways have a good day.

hi, the largest concern that is hunting the mankind is the drastic changes in the climatic conditions. and of course not to be left behind is the terrorism. there are things happening in areas that have never witnessed those things.... like the ozone depletion and also the appearance of green areas in antartica this summer and not to be left behind is the increase in atmospheric carbon dioxide levels. anyways thanks for responding to my discussion and have a good day.
