first time school jitters

My youngest son started nursery classes this week. He didn't go to school or any play school class prior to that so basically, its really his first time to go to school. Unfortunately, he is not taking the separation well. For the first 2 days, I went with him to class. He kept on looking for me throughout the 2 hours he spent in class. On the third day, I left him on his own. When he got home, the bus driver told me that he just stayed outside the classroom until dismissal time. My parents said that it's just normal and he will soon get used to it. But I am just scared that he will have a trauma over this situation. What do you think is the best thing to do? My son is so attached to me that I am still trying to wean him from breastfeeding. :)

well i agree with you it is difficult as you know .may be you had same feelings or difficulties when your first one went to the school. he will soon get used to this after he develops friendship with fellow students or an affinity for the teacher.

in a way it is difficult . but i have come across some parents where the second child will always feel that the elder one is more pampered by parents in the eyes of the second child and he wishes that he should also get the same treatment like getting ready for school, going to school etc. and special tiffin etc. any way you have to speak to the second child and prepare him for going to the school and rewarding him in a small way for behaving well
