Who's at fault, when you lose money on MyLot? (and a tip for new Mylotters)

Does it bother you when a favorite discussion gets deleted and you lose money? Do you ever find out why a discussion was deleted? As in, are you ever provided an explanation? Or do you just have to wonder? Do you feel there is blame to be assigned? For almost a year, I've been hearing people on MyLot talk about losing money. For me, it's not a big deal. If I lose ten or fifteen cents per day, then that just motivates me to post even more discussions and responses. Most times, I lose a little bit of earnings when a discussion that I've responded to has been deleted. That's just part of the MyLot experience. It's bound to happen. You just have to move on and respond to others. You can't focus on one response or discussion forever. There's no money and no fun in that. If I had one tip to pass along to a new member worried about losing money, it would be this. Be nice! It doesn't cost you anything. Don't get caught up in controversy and arguments on MyLot. There's enough arguments in my real life. I don't want to engage in any online. My lot is my time away from arguing and strife. And, stress! Everyone's entitled to their own opinion and it will be different. Two people rarely share the same opinions on any one subject. It doesn't mean the other person is wrong. And, don't respond to money making discussions (which are often deleted) that contain affiliate links. Some will disagree with me on this. And, that's fine. As I said, we're all entitled to our own opinions. These are my observations, they're not rules. Not all such money making discussions are deleted. Many are still up. These types of discussions usually get deleted if someone reports them. And, that rarely happens. So, you could take your chances if you want. Those are my best tips. Please post a tip or observation about the MyLot experience. Thanks!

It doesn't bother me a bit when a discussion gets deleted. I figure something was in the discussion that someone didn't like and they reported it. Besides that I don't think to much money is taken out. So I agree with you on that . Also with arguging I hate it when someone in here disagrees with something that I have posted and it ends up in a argument I usally just start inoring the replies after awhile. I mean it doesn't get me or anyone else anywhere so what is the use of it.Moylot is somewhere I go to everyday not just for money but from friends also.

Definitely! The friendship aspect of MyLot is so worth it! My Space has started creeping me out. I can't find any real friends over there. And, Yuwie is getting to be so spammy and about getting page views. It's just not fun anymore!

I might go to myspace once a week. I have a few freinds in there that use it. Yuwie I never could figure out out to post in there so I never went back. I enjoy mylot so much better.

I hear you! I did the MySpace thing and it was kind of OK, but I was so afraid of the type of people that go there. I've heard stories. But, if I met someone on Mylot, I would talk to them over at Myspace, I wouldn't mind that. There are some things I like about Yuwie, but I like to hang out here more. I don't go there that often anymore. I just lost interest fast. I'm hoping they can get their act together and be more like MyLot and foster community spirit. That's a tough one though. I don't think Yuwie can pull that off!

Hey! Thanks for saying so. And, welcome to MyLot. My other tip would be to post as many discussions as you can, as it pays really well. Of course, you'll want to be sure to update your own discussions often. And, award best response. There's so many other wonderful ways to make money on mylot including uploading pics. I might post it on my blog. Thanks for dropping by.

I didn't realize that you could lose money already earned...that doesn't seem right at all. I know over at gather someone asked about losing points if an article you wrote or commented on was deleted and we were told the answer is no. Marsha

I dont care about if my earnings goes down or up. as you said discussions with other is something I like to, it remove some of my stress at work. I am also wondering why there are so many sites other mylotters are members too. I just presumed they are here for the money. Maybe they dont have regular job and mylotting and other sites are their source of income.

The best way to know you will get paid for all of your responses is to wait till the discussion is a couple days to 3 days old, like this one is 3 days old. If it is going to be deleted it usually is within the couple days. I respond to my friends discussions through my emails so I have some discussions still in my email that are 3 months old. So if you ever get a response to an old discussion of yours that is from me, you now know why.

I think that you have to be responsible for your own actions - in life and on mylot! - so you do have to be careful where you choose to post. I think that some people get caught up on the money making side of things and seem to forget that this is a discussion site and that if they post exciting discussions they will get more responses and therefore the dollars will come from that not the other way around! My biggest tip to new mylotters is to enjoy your posting and don't concentrate on how many lines that you write but more the quality of the post - so quality vs quantity.

Do you know I totally agree with you about not getting involved in controversy and arguments, and normally I stay away from those things like the plague. Even when a comment has been made on my discussions that is so obviously a dig I just laugh at it and move on. But there are just times when comments are made that are really just too snide to ignore. I have had a couple of digs about my parenting skills, OK thats fair enough everyone is entitled to their opinion after all as parents and people we are all different and have different ways of doing things. Different ways that work for us, but may not work for another. But I read comments on a discussion that I responded to and a discussion I started that were downright insulting and there was no way I was leaving it, simply because they were aimed towards me and how I was as a parent. But other than that I usually ignore anything. I never pay no attention if my earnings go down through deletion, I get more fed up when my posting score goes down if I am honest!
