The Star/Number System at myLot--Can someone explain it to me?

Hello out there.
I've been at myLot for 10 months but have only been actively posting and starting discussions over the past month or so. I have been watching the number in the star by my name go up higher and higher. Then, it has pretty much stopped at "8." Can anyone explain to me what the numbers and the stars designate?
I assume the stars and numbers arent' related to how many posts since we have the number to tell us that. But what else could it be? Does it have something to do with the quality of our posts? How do the people that have level 16 get there? Is there somewhere on myLot's website where these levels are explained and where we are told how we can achieve them? Thanks.

If you go to FAQ's in mylot it explains this. When you reach 100 posts you get a star, the number in the star represents how people rted you when you asked a question ( + or - ) thats what those are for you should rate people also people rate your responses the same if you get alot of +'s your number goes higher in the star. When you post a discussion you should rate the responses that people give you! You should also give out a best response to the person that you feel gave you the best response. When you reach 200 posts you can add these emotions 
and you can dowload pics to go along with your discussions. You make more $$$$ if you add pics. When you reach 500 posts you may cut and paste into your discussions! Hope that helps!!!!!

Hey tdemex!
Thanks for all this information about the stars and numbers on myLot. I thought I'd read everything there was to read on myLot, but obviously not. I always rate each response but I didn't know about using the emotions. I don't know how to access them but I will have to review the FAQs to find that out.
Also, thank you so much for telling me the tip about downloading the pics. I have done that on several of my myLot interests but not every one of them. Thank you so much for taking the time to tell me all this stuff.
