how often do you buy a new cell phone to replace your old one? If there is a new model, do you buy it right away? Or do you wait a little longer for other newer models to have a lower deal for the model you want?

Hi abarrojr - I love getting new technology, but I think it's a waste of money to simply replace an item that is still in perfect working condition. Therefore, I usually only buy a new cellphone when my contract is up. I usually never sign for longer than a two year contract. Although I love getting the newer model, it depends on if I can justify the value. For example, the iPhone looks so cool. But since I already have an iPod, the iPhone would be uselses to me. So I would be just as happy with the lower models. The blackberry's are also a popular phone, but there are way too many features in that phone that I think hinders the quality of life. I mean, you don't have to always been in contact. Yes, it's good to be able to be accessible if someone has an emergency, but it's my pet peeve when people are texting or emailing or checking their blackberries all through dinner, lunch, the movies, while driving. So annoying! Also, with all the new gadgets and features in a phone, it's a little bit of a hassle having to relearn everything about it, like how to save contacts, how to send a text, how to take a picture. I know with a little time and effort, it's easy to learn, but it's just a pain in the butt. So that's my opinion.
