The teacher or the 'GURU' is given the third place after mother and father in the society in my country.Sadly enough , the profesion is no more coveted or considered an enviabe profession. Why so?

I'm a little confused. I would think that third place after mother and father is actually quite high. I think teachers play an important role in a child's like, but the parents are the ultimate role model. They are the ones who have the responsibility to raise a child from an infant, teaching them the difference between right and wrong and supporting their child through successes and mistakes. So I don't see why placing after the parents is considered bad? It's still quite high, in my opinion.

For me, teaching is still a noble job. True teachers or those who were called to teach are those that last in this profession. Teaching is a gift from our Creator. If you are gifted, money won't matter at all. It is the gift of teaching hard-headed, spoiled brat kids that matters. The goal is to impart knowledge to these kids. Once, done the feeling of fulfillment is unexplainable. Teaching should be a passion not a work. If you make tecahing a work...men! It is damn tiring! You are underpaid but overwork. Without hardworking teachers, there will be no doctors, no managers, no presidents. Yes, our parents are our first tecahers, but our second teachers work harder than our parents because they need to teach the students and let the parents know that his/her son has learn something. It is difficult to convince a parent that the kid has learned something especially if the child is hard-headed. Take care =)

Why would anybody want to have a poor paying job where you have to let spoiled, bratty kids walk all over you and keep your mouth shut or either have to worry about either one of them shooting you or the parents of the little angel suing you later? There is not enough money to tempt me to take a job as a teacher.

Is any profession has those nobility that once given to them. Teacher's, Policeman, and Doctors these were the cream of the crop while growing up. But these young persons who are entering into this professions do things that makes one think twice. I have some good teachers in my school days. Yes the salary was not there but they were interested in the pupils that they teach. They make you want to learn more and more. But these persons who are choosing these fields are there for the money and nothing else. The behaviour of these person's makes one wonder. Corruption are so rampant in these professional that no one is idolizing it any more.

I am a teacher in Spain and it is very difficult to get the children's attention, but when you do, and things go well, it is a very rewarding job.
