My husband tends to give me little gifts at odd times. He will watch my reactions to things in a store, or items in a magazine, and then save his pocket change or change from the store to pick up that special item. He also leaves whatever it is in his desk at work until I have a bad day! However, it is a great feeling of love that washes over me when that bad day rolls around, and my wonderful husband comes home with that special present in his hand. It may be a book or a charm or an inexpensive knick knack that I saw at the Dollar Store, but the feeling is the same. Incredible love and affection for this man who knows what I like. The best part of all, is that there doesn't have to be a special occasion or a bad day. He will bring me a snack or a box of chocolate covered strawberries (my favorite) out of the blue, for no reason at all. It is the small gestures, such as a quiet hour or two without the kids running around the house, or the little treats that were unexpected that remind me how much he cares!

My hubby of 37 years has only once bought me flowers, I told him that I didn't like cut flowers and so he's bought plants or artificial flowers ever since. On odd occassions he bought them for his or my Mum, and he always chose their favourite flowers. I'm a very 'spoilt' wife according to my sister as he often brings me gifts home especially if he's been on the Continent. He visits Disneyland Paris regularly and I have a large collection of Winnie the Pooh 'memorabiliar' and an even larger collection of City Key rings. He does buy chocolate but only something we can't get here and I've fallen in love with French 'Hand-made' chocolates. Most people would say it's the reason behind the gift, rather than what it is that matters. If the person you are buying flowers or chocolates for 'loves' them, then they are the perfect gift.

You could make something by yourself which will express your love strongly and I also think which is the best gifts no matter which pattern!
