Blckberry and PDA phones how often do you check messages?

In this world of technology, we dont go anywhere without a phone, a laptop, a blackberry or a PDA. I heard that according to statistics that we check our phones for messages 40 times in an hour. Seems that our life is dictated by a little piece of technology! What dictates you?
