Gaming on the Go

Handheld gaming has been around for quite a while and has really gained momentum ever since Nintendo introduced its Gameboy system years ago. Since its introduction we've seen other portable systems such as the Atari Lynx, Gameboy Advance, Nintendo DS, Sony Playstation Portable, Neo Geo Wonder Swan, etc. With technology doubling in speed and halving in size about the rate of every 18 months, how long will console game systems remain the norm? Handheld gaming already features wireless capabilities to play with other players locally and across the globe, so is console gaming going away? If so, what will the future hold for other such things as digital distribution? Do you think handheld gaming will ever outpace console/PC gaming?

Handheld gaming can only be convenient for gamer on the go but, console gaming can never be replaced with hand held. We know that console games have gaming engines that would perform better than hand helds. We also know that most hand held games are ports from consoles games. You can appreciate the details of games with big screens and speakers compared to the screens and audio that hand helds can provide. Then, we can also realize that hand held gaming would only last as the batteries have power while you can stay long hours of gaming on consoles. But, hand helds have the advantage when electric power supply is out, consoles are useless when that happens and hand helds live on if they still have power in them. Let's say new features can be seen on hand held games compared to console games which they came from. Let's also say that there are games only released for certain hand helds and have no ports for consoles. Yet, as gamers, we shouldn't be about what system is better. We're really after the satisfaction from playing games, whatever gaming platform they may run in. Well, that's just what I think.. we really can only assume what may happen in the years to come for gaming.

I think that hand held gaming will always be inferior to console, because as the hand held market increase the console market increase twice as fast because the developers, can develop the quality of the game on their side with higher storage capacity's. Whereas most hand held is limited to 10Mb- 1gb in comparison it is tiny to what they produce for console

Yeah I know handheld gaming has been around for a long time, and I remember when I used to have a Gameboy, but I did not really like playing it,the only handheld gaming system I use is my Nomad,I think, however, console gaming systems will always be around, because even though handheld gaming systems are portable and convenient, they still can not beat console gaming systems, because they have better graphics, and you can play them on a bigger screen, and I seriously doubt handheld gaming will ever replace console/PC gaming.
