Cat Shows

Grand Champion and Regional Winner - This was my favorite cat to show and also my favorite cat at home. He's still my best buddy.

Do any of you either attend cat shows as a spectator or as an exhibitor? If so, what do you enjoy most about them? If not, would you like to attend one? If you wouldn't want to attend one, why not?

I've been to a cat show but I was little so I don't really remember it. I would love to go to one now though. Mainly because I love cats lol. I've been to a lot of dog shows though! We even used to show some of ours. They were fun too, so I'm sure a cat show would be as well. Do you show any cats, or just like to go?

Until recently I did show. The cat in the picture is one of my breeding. He also is a grand champion and a regional winner. He was also the best red persian in the nation the year I showed. He loved going to the shows as much as I did and when he didn't win he would actually pout. LOL. They are fun to go to even when you aren't showing. Spectators are allowed to walk through the areas where the exhibitors have their cats benched and look at all the cats. It's amazing how many different breeds of cats their are. Also the vendor areas are fun to visit. They have all sorts of neat stuff for sale, both for cats and their owners.

Oh I didn't realize that was your cat! She's gorgeous. There are a lot of breeds though. I tried looking at them all online and I got overwhelmed. We only have one cat right now. But I'd love another one soon.

Yes, I do! I love cat shows!! The cats there are all so beautiful. It's wonderful to go and see these gorgeous well groomed cats being shown and listen to what the judges have to say about them. It's also fun to be able to walk through the area where the cats are kept between rings and watch their owners getting them ready to be shown. The Persians are being brushed and combed and the short haired cats are being slicked down, their little faces being washed, and all that. Anyone who likes cats should definitely have this experience.

For some reason I like hanging out with the Persian too. haha!!! Seriously the cat shows are a lot of fun, as are all the cats, but I do love the Persians best.

I have never been to one, but I would like to go to one and see what it's like and maybe put my Turkish Angora in and see if everyone else thinks she's as cute as I do :-)

My babies - Big boy and little girl.
I've gone to a few as a spectator. I love cats. They are smart, beautiful, and unique animals. Here is a pic of my two.

How cute! They are so funny when they have a box to play in. That's the best toy you can give them.

Here is a schedule of CFA cat shows. The prices on it are the prices for exhibitors showing a cat. It really doesn't cost much to attend. Usually around $3 per person. There is usually an email address on the schedule where you can contact someone to get details of how much it would cost to attend the show as a spectator. A lot of times when it's close to show time they even have a brochure online that gives this info. http://www.cfainc.org/exhibitors/show-schedule.html

Most of them are really not very costly to go to, at least not in my area -- around $3 per person, I believe. It's much more expensive to enter a cat. Usually $25 to $35 per cat!
