What would you do when feeling down?

I wonder why sometimes my mood would change very fast from a happy to a down one. I had tried doing many things to blow away my unhappy feeling but still couldn’t pull me back from that. Finally I find the most effective way is to spend my blue time sitting on the bench beside the children playground in a nearby park, watching children playing there. These little kids are so vigorous and they never ever feel tired running and chasing wildly around the playground. Their innocent ways of speaking, true laughing show that how adorable the kids are. They are the angels who really chase away my down feeling. My dear friends, what would you normally do when your feeling is down? Thanks for sharing.

That's is very good way to drive the bad feeling away when your mode is down. You are very lucky to live nearby by such a nice place. When I am in bad mode, I will try to think about thing that makes me happy. Like thinking of how much that I have earned so far and the achievement that I made. But more often, I will play games or exercise. Games is the best remedy for me to cure unhappiness. The only bad part of it, is sometimes I lack of sleep because too obsessed in playing the game.

Hi cheongyc, yeah it is the good way to drive my blue away, especially to watch those little toddlers walking doddering around there. But it is rather sad that sometimes I don’t find any kid in the playing ground. Luckily that not far away from the playground there is a site where we could find monkeys hanging around. I like watching the mischievous monkey playing and chasing one another from the ground to the trees and also the other way round. The funny actions of these lovely monkeys could make me refreshed and drive away my unhappy mood. Hi there, it is a nice way to having positive thinking when we are blue. Well I do find some of my friends, just like you, to keep on indulging in playing computer games. I was told that the satisfaction acquired from the challenge would chase away their bad mood. Do you agree? Thanks for responding and have a great day.

Definitely, by concentration on something challenging, we can forget all the unhappiness. It's very much similar to meditation. Although I am not good in meditation, but I think it's a very effective activity to purify our mind and keep it in peaceful state. It's good to have good place where you can enjoy sighting the monkeys. It's not easy to find such a place in urban area now. We need to pay in order to watch the monkey in zoo.

Hi diansinta, your boss’s dog is really cute and loves you. When you cried he tried to console you and boosted up your spirit by bringing all his precious toys which he never shared with others but to you only for the day. Though the stuff he brought didn’t have any connection completely with your problem, I think the way he treated you still would make you deeply impressed anyway. So next time when you feel down remember to cry in front of him again Happy posting and thanks for responding.

Hi dear diansinta, it’s a good idea to keep those sms which could boost our mood up in the cellphone so we could read them whenever we feeling down. Hi kawan, saya faham bahasa Indonesia (Hi my friend, I understand the language of Indonesia), as it is same to my national language, Malay. Yeah, I agree what Steven said in the sms is correct. So forget all about those which are negative. Feel relaxed and have a sound sleep . You will be happy and energetic again the next morning. posting and take care.

Physical - heal thy self spring to mind. Now no moretears, selamat tidur(Indonesia=Good nigh) and mimpi manis(Indonesia=sweet dream), ok? Steve trying to use indonesian language, isn't he sweet? and i save this sms till now at my cell phone to remind my self.

Watching children play is a good way to cheer yourself up. I usually go to sleep or read a book if I'm feeling low. My grandchildren always help to cheer me up.

Hi nannacroc, you are lucky that you have your own lovely angels around and could cheer you up anytime. I envy you that you could shake off your low feeling easily by just reading or sleeping. I believe you are an easy going person who is always happy most of the time. Happy posting and thanks for responding.

I was lucky enough to have easy going parents and it was passed on. I try to do something about things I can change and try not to worry about things I can't. As Mr Croc suffers from depression at times someone needs to be in control of their emotions. I do realise how lucky I am to have my girls and their children close to me both physically and emotionally. Take care.

Hi nannacroc, I am so happy to see you dropping by again. I believe parents are the ones who influence their kids the most both in physical and emotional aspects. Your girls and grandchildren must have been inherited this good disposition and they are inspired by you as well. As you are an easy going person so very often you could escape from emotional problem when your Mr suffers from depression. Happy posting and have a great day.

When am down, I just find a good song that I like then I sing it out very loudly without minding if am bothering anyone. Also when I am down, my cat consoles alot.......she comes and sits on my laps, start licking my hands and playing with me. Sometimes when am feeling down I just jump into my bed and take a nap and when I wake up am feeling better.

Yeah my dear friend, when feeling down who bother our singing would disturb others. So sing as loud as we could to release our emotion. Cats and dogs are always faithful to us. They are our best companions. Hugging and stroking them could really give warmth to our heart and make us forget about the down feeling. Of course if we could fall asleep easily, sleeping is the best and simple way to forget all about the depressed feeling. When getting up we feel refreshed again. Thanks for responding and happy posting.

Hi lkbooi, I agree that pets are really wonderful and innocent friends when it comes to consoling you. They even know when you are feeling down and when you are happy. I gather that pets can lower a person's blood presure when high....for me sometimes when am low I cry myself to sleep and when i wake up am lively. Another secrete of mine when am low is s*x heheheee if I get a really good one I get better immediately.......silly but true

Hi, This is a good thing which i learn from your discussion, however might be possible that you will not find kids in the park all the time as in if your mood will get down at odd time so what would you do at that time? So there should be the other way as well. When my mood gets down probably i would call up to any of my best friend or to my parents, at times i would like to watch TV and that too CARTOON SERIALS especially Tom & Jerry which will definetely make you smile as per my experience. You can call it silly thing or kidish behaviour but buddy believe me it worked for me. And if anyone would have the girlfriend or a boyfriend he/she can call him/her as well to make his/her mood good. Best of luck Bye.

Hi nike, thanks for your appreciation. From the responses I have received, including your valuable one, I came to learn lots about how to shake off the down feelings at odd time. The ways you have suggested for easing depressed feeling are really positive and practicable. I find many cartoons are not solely meant for kids only but for adults as well. They are rather amusing and comedic and could really make us refreshed and pleasant on watching them. Yeah, parental and romantic loves could have wonderful effect on healing of our depressed emotions. Thanks for responding and happy posting.

Feeling down! I don't know, I just want to walk and walk long distance. If I have my cycle with me then I would love to bike it for hours. This is my way of making me positive again. With all the frustration and tension around in this world, gives me a feeling that despite all the problems people are still running and doing their jobs. This very feeling gives me belief that if these guys can do, then i can also do it and fight!

You are most welcome sanuanu. I hope you really as I what I have wished you, or at least you could achieve it in the nearest future. Yeah, it’s an instinct for a kid to run away when encounter problem, some even hide themselves behind their parents for shelter. It’s really to recall such childhood experience, though childish but funny. Oh no! You are always welcome. If I do, I prefer not to have fun chatting with friends here anymore.

Thanks for the complements! Am I that good? I don't think that I am that good but if the complements are coming, let them come. He he he. Jokes apart! Life really becomes tough some time and becomes easy some day. We just need to find the way to convert those tough days to easier one. In my childhood, I used to run away from the problems but later I understood that running is no option but we need to face them. I am learning every day! PS: don't you get bored with my content every day?

Hi balasri, it’s nice to shake away your blue by having a long drive and enjoy the favorite music at the same time. I don’t enjoy the country drive anymore after the price of the gasoline going up. I couldn’t listen to light music while driving for almost two years as the CD player in my car didn’t work totally. It’s rather a shame to tell you, as I have always been procrastinating and don’t get the device repaired till now. I understand that it's a chronic habit which might cause problem when I need to use it badly. posting and have a wonderful day.

Hello Friend.... When I feel down, I talk to myself, I ask myself , why the hell I am sad........and if nobody is bothered about my being sad, then why should I make them more happy by remaining sad, it would be better to forget everything or accept the facts and let go the whole thing as if it never happened or it was never important.......Talking to yourself helps a lot...... Try it ones.......and think only positive........we have to learn living friend........living lively and not just living....and when you are sad, nobody can help you but your own inner self. This is why people feel peace in meditation, because then there is nobody between you and your conscious.

Hi apsara, thanks for your valuable kind and warm words. It really brings light to my living. True, positive thinking is the important way of facing and solving problem. This makes life optimistic and hopeful. I think talking to my self when feeling down might lead to understand my true inner self. I believe, there it lies the root of problem. I hope this is the way to release the pen up mood effectively. With your kind concern so whenever I come across time of low spirit I would try talking to myself hopefully I could tackle the problem. Thanks for the response and have a great day.

Hi apsara, thanks for your valuable advice, that is “talking to myself” when in blue mood. I don’t have any chance to try this way yet. Thankworthy as so far I still haven’t come across any down feeling. Anyway I would try your suggested method if feeling down aging in time to come. I would share with you weather it works or not after I have tried it later on. Thank you very much for your kind concern. Happy posting and take care.

Hi sun2day, before yes, I did like to have a free drive along the country road while feeling down. Watching the natural landscapes on both sides of the road could really make us feel relaxed. But now I don’t do this anymore for the hike cost of gasoline nowadays. I’m glad that recently the price of gasoline seems to go down like 20% or so. If it goes further lower I could still manage to enjoy my leisure drive at anytime as I wish, but not only at time of low mood only. posting and have a nice day.

The way you help out your blues fade away is very nice. i mean these little kids tend to entertain us so nicely that we ourselves do not know. Alongwith that you can plan to go out with your friends or dear ones. Also you can plan out shopping to let your blues go away.

I also like to carry new born baby or baby under the age of three months in my arms. May be I would go out with my friends or loved ones. I don’t shake off my down feeling doing shopping anyway. hey, lkbooi.feeling down is common in everyone's life,it cant be eliminated, but i think it can be reduced to the minimum amount if we learn to adjust to the changing environment.playing with kids is really a great way to release and relax ourselves.their innocent smiles and actions really humanize and warm our hearts deeply.we i feel something depress me ,i will sit in my bedroom, think silently, what is the culprit that makes me feel so bad,so frustrated.then try to comb thoughts and plan in my mind what i can do next step to solve the problem, trying to find a suitable way to approach difficulties instead of avoiding them.we have to face the unpleasant things bravely in life cause now that they are inavoidable, accept is the best way to kill them.on many occasions,i also will go outside with friends playing badminton, after perspiring a lot i will happy again.research shows doing sports does good to our health.sometimes listening to the soft music to let my mind go blank and forget those unhappy things around me.it is also a good choice.you may have a try, hope you happy every single moment. take care.

Concerning this problem,I suggest you should go for a walk in the park or in the playground with your sincere friends. Then, you will find it is a great way of removing your down feeling.Besides,I can assure you that listening to music you like will make you relaxed. In your spare time, try to drop your life stress and working pressure so as to enjoy travling, you will find the life is colourful and your mood will become buoyant. When my feeling is down,I normally do as I tell.

Thanks for your good suggestion wangguoxiang, about all the ways you usually do to shake away your low mood. I’m really glad that you will become buoyant again after having several recreational activities as mentioned. I think it would be harmful if we keep on confining ourselves in a restricted world alone during the difficult time of depression. It’s always nice to release ourselves psychologically and emotionally when we have pent-up tension. I like sitting beside the children playground. Amid the cheerful laughing, excited noise made by the innocent kids mingled with the chirping of birds, it would certainly drive away my down feeling altogether. posting and take care.

Wow... really an interesting scene.. i could imagine.. i could visualize the smiles that slowly developed in your face...seeing the kids playing....beautiful.. certainly.. i soothes the pricked heart and even thaws the hardened hearts.. Myself, will go on a long ride in my bike to a temple in a rural area which is very rarely visited... i will sit in there.. hours together.. watching the evening sun... cool breeze..blowing across..watch the falling leaf.. chirping birds.. trying to settle after their hectic day... and some birds still flying across.. some in haste... and making a lethargic fly..carrying in their minds... their own problems...but none to share with them.. inspite of it,..they find their way towards home..... still very determined to face things...never ever sought of others help...dictating time at their will...so if these birds could enjoy life.. why do I... with a inspired heart..i come home with a peaceful mind..

The perseverance shown by the little birds which could live independently and happily would really amaze us. Yeah we should live our life with much determination and joyousness. When I am down and lonely, I usually read a novel to get my mind off whatever problem I am having or just to drive away the blues. My best way is to go shopping. If I h ave money to spare, I will go and buy something for myself. If there is no money, then I enjoy window shopping too. Just going to the malls, seeing so many people shopping, browsing through things all help to relieve my tension.

Hi kety, really it’s a good way to spend our unhappy moment hanging around the shopping mall to shake off our down feeling by shopping or window shopping. Some of my friends do like shopping crazily when in blue mood. Thus a few just indulge in eating their favorite food heavily when feeling down and never aware of putting on weight at the same time consequently. Happy posting and take care.

Yeah Jade, many people, especially girls like to take sweeties like chocolate and ice cream desperately when feeling down. Then they would take the trouble to try to put down weigh again. There are still many other effective ways which could lead you out from the depression. posting and take care.
