If you could change one thing about yourself what would you want to change and why would you want to change it? In this day and age of the pill revolution, miracle drugs can change lots of physical characteristics now. Take a pill to be taller, change your skin color, change your weight, change the size of your private parts....are we really that dissatisfied with ourselves? Don't even mention plastic surgery because that is the wonder of all wonders. I liken plastic surgery to children playing with blocks, build something then knock it down and start over. So if you could change something what would you change and would you use artificial means to make the change?

Well, if you are talking about physical appearance, I think that I would like to be a little taller. I am 5'7" and though I am not extremely short, I would still like to be a little taller at times.

I know what you mean about wanting to be taller. When I was 11, I thought I could have life by the b alls if only I was 6 feet tall... and blonde. At 5'1", I'm not getting any taller, and I don't look good as a blonde. Go figure.

I also am vertically challenged....the top shelf of the kitchen cabinets is virtually unknown to me...lol. Hair color I can at least do something about...but it is a chore since my hair is really long.

If I could change one thing about myself, I would change my ability to discipline myself. I would want to have discipline over my actions my thoughts and feelings. I hope this response is appropriate for your question. But the reason for me wanting to change this about myself is that I realize that discipline controls so much. For example having discipline over one's feelings would have amazing positive effects in itself. One would be able to concentrate when one feels they need to. One my shut off the crippling effects of the feelings of fear and hopelessness. And no I would not use artificial means because honestly I think that if a pill claimed to do this...it must have some really nasty side effects. Also, on the matter of society being so unsatisfied with itself, yes I think the general population is becoming less and less satisfied with themselves. People seem to be more unhappy in this age, in my opinion. Perhaps that is because we have lost some values and connections that were available in a previous time. Hope you found this post meaningful.

Well said....Society as a whole sure doesn't carry much meaning anymore. Everyone is too self involved to see the nose on their own faces. I think society as a whole should stop and smell the roses before its too late.

I would change my weight. But I'd hire a nutritionist and a chef to do it, if I could.

Oh, I don't know... even skin tone, more hair on my head, less fat on my tummy, larger eyes, longer torso, no more arthritis... any number of things to change the reflection in the mirror to match the me in my mind's eye.
