My Experiences as a Student Assistant

Just this past summer, I spent about a month in total working as a student assistant in my university. Everyday, except Sundays of course, I would go to school at 8 am and go home at 4pm. My job descriptions there were to help in collecting the student council fee, issue receipts, give the grades clearances to students, bind syllabus, bind sets of enrollment forms, etc. But of course, I wasn't alone. There were other student assistants there with me and we do things as a team. One of the things I love in this job is that I get to meet and assist people of different personalities and nationalities as well. There some people who were pleasant while some come in as if they own the school. But fortunately, most of them were kind and patient enough. Whenever the people come back to us in the final stage of enrollment with a smile, Iall of us feel great. During times when there are no scheduled enrollment or when enrollment is not at its peak, I enjoyed chatting with my co-SA's as we shared our own experiences while serving the university. I remembered that during our last day, as we were sharing, we couldn't stop laughing! It was that fun! And of course, who wouldn't enjoy times when a professor would treat us lunch or snacks? Even just the simple chicharon, cornicks, or fish crackers could already make our day! There was a time when a professor treated each one of us with McDonald's cheeseburger and another day with free lunch just because she saw us finish binding all the syllabus is a matter of a few days...well, with a lazy man's attitude, it could have taken us weeks to finish binding them because they were A LOT! Anyway, I really enjoyed my vacation being a student assistant in school because not only have I earned some money, but I also got to meet new people and learned how to manage office chores. I would gladly volunteer to be an SA again in the sembreak and in the next summer! :D
