Single stream of income is not enough to survive in the future?

The cost of living today is quite expensive. Prices shoots up like a rocket yet pay rise is as slow as a snail. To me, this means the quality of lifestyle had been lowered. What I see for the future is that, if each person only have one stream of income, surviving in today's world can be difficult or close to impossible. Therefore, this raises my question of whether a single stream of income is enough for us to maintain the quality of lifestyle we had now in the future. I just see that the world we live in now is getting more complicated and technical. No idea why I feel that way, maybe the news had influence me into this kind of thinking.

For me i think it depends on how shallow or deep the stream of income is. By this i mean how much the stream of income is pulling out, if it is much then you can maintain a single stream of income but where need arises then you can add more streams of income.

I see that today's econonomy it is hard to survive on one income! Imagine, at one time the husand's income was enough to get through but then the wife had to work part time and then full time. These days it is best to have more than one income. The trick is how can you make that income without taking up your life punching a clock! Mylot can be a nice little piece of coin, if you work it right as well as other online sights. Now, what will you do with your online income...that is where the difference is made!

i have to agree with you that the price of everything is totally ridiculous now... but i think if we learn to budget and live within our means, then we should be able to live on one stream of income... yes, we can't live luxuriously and there are some things that we have to sacrifice... but still, i'm pretty sure that we will able to survive as our God is a merciful God and He provides us enough to survive... but we human beings tend to be greedy and want a luxurious life... that's what make our income is not enough to support ourselves... i'm not talking about people with family as it is impossible now to raise a family especially with children with one income... but if we only support ourselves, then one stream of income should be enough... that's what i think... take care and have a nice day...

My partner and I are on a single, low income, so money is very tight and we often struggle to make ends meet. Now prices for food and fuel have gone up and the bills have increased, making life even more difficult. You are right, the quality of life has dropped in line with all the price increases worldwide

I can tell you this much that the world will not be the same again, too much has happened. It's like we are in a sinking sand. You've got to have multiple income stream now, it's going to be difficult to survive on one income stream. This is the time people need to look carefully for a business that's going to increase their net worth and allow them to have or improve the life style they are accustom to.

I agree with you too. Try to find more ways to earn more.

I'm going to have to agree. I took a Psychology class a couple of years ago and the instructor there stated that if we wanted to survive in this world the way it was going, then we better have a side hustle, or if you will a business of one's own on the side and in retrospect, he wasn't lying. And that was in 2004. Today I have more than one. For a while I had two jobs, and I did this online, plus did some surveys and such, but with the loss of my other job, I could use another. So yes, you are quite right. Unless your salary is more than enough to cover the high prices affecting us today.

I agree with what you said. The cost of living today is indeed expensive. Unfortunately, not everyone can cope with how much life has become. A single stream of income will only be enough to help an individual sustain the quality of lifestyle he currently has if and when we are talking about a single stream of high income. It's sad though that for most of us, that is not the case.

Hi, You are right. Making money using single method is not enough. If we are making money using only one single way, it will be hard to make a living in the future. I am extra making money online hoping to cover some of my personal finance.

I think it all depends on the job that you have. If you are working minimum wage or close to it then no it will not be enough, but if you are running your own business and earning a lot of money a year then you will be fine. It also depends on what benefits you get as well, although benefits are not much they can be the difference between surviving and not surviving.
