Do You Think We really earn by online browsing and clicking?

I am in a doubt that we realy earn money by browsing and clicking on advetisements. Has anybody calculated the cost of internet connection plus electricity plus time and mind we invest on earning online? May be websites which are paying to us had calculated that. If they are earning means somebody is loosing. If we are earning means they are loosing.
