My husband and I are taking a road trip to Columbus, Georgia to see his parents and for me to meet the rest of his family. I'm a little worried but this discussion is more about our trip out there. I wanted to know if you guys can tell me some good things to bring along on the trip. We have a 21 hour trip from El Paso, Texas to Columbus, Georgia so you can only image how boring we just may get. I also wanted to know about some good snacks to bring along, we don't really want to stop too often unless its really necessary. And we're also bringing our little puppy with us, so we know we'll have to stop to let her go potty, but how often is that? I appreciate all the help you guys can give. Thanks.

Oh what an adventure that will be, well if you don't want to stop very often I think you should make a few sandwiches and have lots of fruit to take with you and plent of treats for the puppy..I hope the puppy ikes the car, I had a dog years ago that always got sick in the car...I hope you have a lovely and safe journey.

Thanks for the response. I really do appreciate it, its always nice to get some help from others. As far as I know so far my puppy doesn't get car sick. And hopefully she doesn't get sick on this trip. It would make me feel us awful. Once again thank you.

Like Lilaclady said. Pack a picnic with you if you don't want to stop. A few sandwiches (if you do some with lunch meat be sure to either have a cooler or eat those sandwiches first... you don't want to arrive at those hours later...) Some fruits like apples, grapes and bananas can work (if you want oranges or other, more "difficult" fruit you should prepare them early and uh...not on the road. Anything else I can say? Oh yes. Don't eat and drive. -_- Before I forget, have a nice trip Thuyn.

Thanks. That helps me out a bit more. I appreciate the response like always. I figured sandwiches would be good, I was even thinking peanut butter and jelly, would be better than meat only because I usually like mayo and mayo in the heat don't taste good unless you eat it right away like you said. But I might want to get a little cooler. I know it's going to be a long drive. And when I'm bored I like to snack. And those fruits are a great idea. I definitely want some oranges so thanks for the tip of preparing them before I leave. I would make a mess of the car with all the peels. Again thank you.

Bring sncks which do not easily spoil. Avoid drinking to much beverages to prevent you to you know what. The food you must bring should not be easily digested. I don't know the climate there but if its cold bring some blanket. bring your puppy diapers.
