Has anyone experienced a retinal bleed and lost almost all vision in that eye? The technical term for what I have experienced is called myopic macular degeneration. I have been told that it is caused from being nearsighted not from age. The treatment for this, at least as of last year, was a shot/needle directly into the eye. My eye doctor did not want to put me to sleep for this or give me something to relax me. I had Lasix in the past and wonder if this is related in any way. If anyone out there has experienced this, has your sight gotten any better without any treatment? I only had one of the shots and could not go through that again. It was uncomfortable.

I am myopic but I have never experienced retinal bleed. I was actually thinking of getting LASIK for my eye sight although am having second thoughts and I have been back and forth on that . Even talked to my ophthalmologist about he says ; " go for it, it's completely safe nowadays and you'll feel much better when its done" but my friends say that it could be risky and there have been some cases where the vision is further impaired rather than bettering . They say that for my Ophthalmologist its just a big payout and for something so expensive its not permanent for sure . There's a reason its only for 18+, the patient himself/herself has to be very careful, during the whole procedure.
It sounds quite bad , as you described it may be it is related to the Lasix I don't know for sure . The name itself is horrible does the retina actually bleed? does it hurt? I can see its been four years so are you still facing this? or are you through with it?
