These days the prices of food have really gone up in our country. A 5 kg rice pack that was 5$ 2 years ago is now about 20$. Is it the same in your country? What steps have you taken to see that the expenses are not going too high?

Here it is mostly bread, cereal and dairy products that I have noticed the most increase in price. I'm sure there other items that have gone up as well.

So the prices of basic food has gone up. That could affect us due to repeated bad weather across many parts of world leading to failure in crops.

Yes. Infact, we have rice shortage and the government is doing something for it. Commercial rice are way too high now compared before. The government is producing rice for the poor and everyday when I go to work I see a lot of people lined up waiting for the government rice which is much cheaper. And it's a political issue here in our place.

You are talking about which country? Thr price of rice has gone up as the climatic changes caused the failure of crops in all major rice producing countries.

The prices of groceries has gone up where I live. It hasn't gone up so bad that I can't handle it yet though as I buy store brand items and other cheaper items.

Yes, the prices have gone up quite a bit here in the United States for everything. I think it has to do with the rising price of gasoline here too. Wages are not going up to help. :(

It's a chain reaction caused by the oil price hike. When the cost of gas increases, transportation costs also increase. Workers ask for higher salaries because their expenses increase, so to compensate for this companies increase the price of goods as well. It's a really difficult time for everyone globally. Hopefully, the world leaders will be able to resolve the gas problem.

Yep thats exactly it...Regardless of the item, EVERYTHING goes back to the cost of gas/oil..Its insane though..and whats even MORE insane IMO is the fact that according to recent news my husband read (or might have heard on the radio not sure which) apparently certain gas companies recently said that by the end of summer gas will be $5 a gallon and "ppl better get use to it". They dont care that more and more ppl every day are struggling but getting deeper in the hole..these companies are PROFITING BILLIONS OF DOLLARS why shoudl they give a crap ya know...they're getting what they want and thats MONEY....
