Churches Have Changed

I am a woman who truly loves God with all of my heart and there is often times I hang onto his ears with my feet and my hands just screaaming for Him to hear me. I don't go to church anymore because I am so frustrated with the way they are doing now. I know this sounds harsh but please remember through this, that i is just my opinion and how I feel. I know I don't do like I should but I believe we have areas in our lives which needs improvement on a daily basis, but at the same time no matter how long we are here on earth, we will never get it right. I feel todays churches are also not helping us with that very much. I remember the old days when I use to go to church with my papaw and buddy when that preacher was done, I got the message. if you had nothing but a quarter to put into the offering plate then that was good enough also, because the most important thing was that you got out of bed that morning and came through the doors to spend a little of your time with the Lord and to hear His word. It's not like that anymore. Nowadays people judge you on what you are wearing, where u come from, how thick your wallet is and so forth. Folks this isnt good and how in the world are we to teach our younger folks the true meaning of God if they are watching us judge everything around us? I went into a new church one sunday morning a couple yrs. ago and I sat down on the back pew. I watched many folks go by me without acknowledging me being a new person in their church. I have to say it hurt because I was trying to find a church that would accept me and welcome me with open arms as to say we are all family here. Well I proceeded to listen to the sermon and the pastor several times spoe in reference to raising money for the church and needing money for this and that. I really was disapppointed. Well church finished and I waited a little bit to let some folks go by before I started out the door myself and again I wasnt noticed. I went down the hallway and started up a flight of stairs and a lady yelled for me and asked if I enjoyed the service? I stated I hadnt really gotten much from it that evening. She asked would I be back and I stated no. That was it and we parted ways. I have heard some churches say that in ordeto become a member of our church, you have to be this and that. To me that is not acceptable. If a hooker walks into a church and sits down beside you in nothing but her street rags to hear the word of God, how manyof you in your hearts would scoot away from her or not notice that she is there, or tell her that her clothing is not appropiate for the house of the Lord? You need to look at it in a different way, cause there is a reason why she is there and it wasnt an accident. We were good enough for the Lord when we came into this world naked, why would she not be good enough to sit beside you to hear the word fo the Lord? What about the beaten wife that walks through the door with her 3 kds and bruised up one end and down the other? What about the drunk who walks in with alcohol on his breath to hear the word? You never know, but today may be the day he throws the bottle away. Folks I know we arent perfect and I know people say all the time, its not like that anymore in reference to the old times, but folks if we dont hang onto just a little bit of the old times then what do we honestly have to pass on to our kids? We may not have been rich in the older times but I can remember that a man's word was once everything, a good sunday preaching with a little singing and a home cooked meal afterwards went a long ways.... To me I would take them days back anytime versus todays times when nothing seems to be real anymore......Any thoughts?

You just need to find the right church. There are many churches. Not all churches are like that. Sometimes it is better to dress formal then causal at a church. It shows you are serious about the church.
