How long do you hold on to memories?

I practically hold on to memories throughout my life... because it's the only thing that's left to me... How about you? Do you hold on to memories? Why do hold on to memories?

just like you, I will hold memories especially the good one forever. good memories should keep for the entire life.. 
but I don't keep bad memories, as it sometimes leads to grudges, hatred and revenge.. so better let those bad memories gone.
