Diseases from Dogs

I've heard about dog ticks that could lead to lyme disease . Accordingly, this disease could be transmitted to humans. A patient will then suffer lyme flue.
Do you know any diseases that we could get from dogs?

Lyme disease isn't contagious from dog to person, from what I understand. It's likely that an infected tick crawling on your dog could pass it to you, however. The tick is the method of transmission -- not the dog itself.
There've been a couple of cases where people have gotten staph infections from their pets, though. You can contract rabies and a ton of parasites and fecal bacterial diseases from dogs, too.
