Does anyone out there do surface mining? Or dig for gems/fossils as recreation? I saw the "Best places to find Cash and Treasures" show on the Travel Channel, and it looks so fun. I've always loved to dig when I was a little kid. I've seen there are some people that make a living off digging for gems and selling them to jewelers. Do you need a permit of some sort to do this? It's definately something I'm interested in. xD
