can u tell the meaning of English words from the shape of the words?

do u love studying english words, i'm fond of it, and i've found that English words are kinda pictographic words, let me give u some examples:
M--Moutain
S--snake
S--silk
L--long
O--oval
c, we can tell the meaning from the initial letter of the word partly, do u think so? personally, i feel all languages are originally pictographic.
