Hi, okay so I saw that there was a discussion of this last week about unplugging your computer during a thunderstorm, but I kind of need a little help here. Saturday we had a bad thunderstorm but I was at a party and when I came home in the morning my computer (laptop) was off and when I turned it back on it started to make this loud sound. I am using it now and its the first time since because I was afraid that using it might make things worse. The computer itself works absolutely fine. What do you guys think the problem is?

I agree with the last two comments.Check to see if it hotter than usual but do take it in as soon as you can.I also suspect it has something to do with the fan which is your cooling system. If you continue using it in this condition (fan maybe running too fast and become counter-productive, ie it will heat up itself)you may damage your machine. Take it asap

Hi TheSunWillShine, I think you are so lucky because nothing happened that bad to your baby laptop. But you told that your computer made the loud sound. I think it's better for you to go to the computer technicians, check your laptop to see what happen. I think you know very well that laptop is such a sensitive machine. Before the problem get worse and screw up your computer so it's better for you to check it out! I hope nothing bad is happened to your computer.

What kind of sound is it? Is the sound constant the whole time the computer is on or does it sometimes stop? If everything is working fine I would guess it might be related to your fan, maybe feel and see if the normal amount of air is coming out, does it feel any hotter than normal?
