spandex trunks or board shorts

which is better for confort. i am a leisure swimmer. i swim for fun but i want some good swim trunks for the summer. i also want a really confortable pair because i am going away for aot of swimming. which would be better. a spandex tight pair or just some run of the mill boardshorts?
