Should Jack have died in the water?

I think that even though he was trying to be a gentleman and let her be on top of the board, they should have taken turns being on it so that they both could have had the chance of living happily ever after together. He deserved just as much a chance of living too.

how can it be man....it was a cold water below zero degrees and its the basic duty of men to just go through all the physical and by far keep our love aways from it...i think he might have thought bout as u have said...but outa tiredness and weakness...rose fell asleep....and how could he have wake her up???.I think it was perfectly logical thing to do.....

sure but with the water and air temperature as cold as it was (in real life) they wouldnt have had a chance anyways, hyperthermia would have set in very quickly. (the water and the air were around freezing).

well the water must have been a little less colder that the air, i think rose had to die first, if it were real. because she was wet and whit the air that cold she had to die first.
