Nvidia will release Geforce GTX 280 ? whew... i think the Geforce 9800 GTX2 was powerful enough for todays gaming. but then, the next generation is coming. well, if you must make a decision, what will you take ? 9800GTX2 or the brand new GTX 280 ?

Not worth the money. It has very little improvement in performance over 9800GTX. If you want the best performance for the money, go get a 9600GT or an ATi Radeon 3850/3870. It's slower, but also a LOT more cheaper. For the price of the GTX280 (around $650), you can get 4 9600GT's. Put them on Quad-SLI, and do the math... :D Cheers.

Ehh... Yes I do agree that there is very little improvement compared to the 9800GTX, but for the most bang for your buck I would recommend SLI 8800GTX. It's powerful enough to run all games smoothly, (except crysis of course), and it saves alot more money. I read somewhere that SLI 8800GTX is more powerful than the 9800GTX, 9800GTX isn't much of an upgrade to the 8 series either.

The GeForce 8800GT all the way to 9800GX2 (with the exception of the old 8800GTS, GTX, and Ultra) use the same chip, namely G80. That's why we don't see much improvement. Yes, 2x 8800GTX in SLI is still cheaper than GTX280, but I don't know which is better, 4x 9600GT in Quad-SLI or 2x 8800GTX in SLI. Have to find some benchmarks for it. Regarding Crysis... It just makes you cry... My Radeon 3870 OC won't even run it smoothly at 1280x1024 High, although both the GPU runs at less than 80% (the CPU runs at less than 60%). I think Crysis still needs more optimizations.
