Hi relundad! I'm a volunteer at our local Red Cross, and one of our three senior citizens home. I'm most passionate about my time with the elderly. There are so many of them that for whatever reason find themselves alone in their old age, and dependant on others. I feel that they did so much for our country, and they should be treated with the most respect. I have always felt that they sacrificed so much of their blood, sweat, and tears,so that my generation could have a foot up and an equal oppertunity. So they deserve to be treated with respect, and live a dignified life. It's this love of self, that moves me to love those that made this possible. {{{HUGS}}}

Thank you so much for giving back. As I often tell people, we never know when a road in life, will take us on the otherside of the track.

That's so cool. I used to mentor kids also. I really enjoyed it. It was a program aimed at keeping girls in school and out of trouble, using music as a medium.

Sure. I volunteer at my church with programs for the homeless. I volunteer and donate for the FoodBank. I am a member of Associates of Vietnam Veterans and work with programs for homeless veterans and veterans suffering with PTSD. I mentor teenage girls from low income housing projects. I give homeownership counseling services for future first time homebuyers free of charge.

There are many ways to hlp a charity apart from giving money. I don't have much to give, so I give of my "time" by volunteering and helping out as needed and I do feel greta about it.

You are absolutely right and you should not underestimate the monetary value of your time. Most organizations need "time" volunteers more than they do money. Thanks for doing your part!

Hi my friend, I give a monthly amount to the Humane Society of the United States. The Humane Society of the United States is the nation's largest and most effective animal protection organization—backed by 10 million Americans, or one in every 30. Established in 1954, The HSUS seeks a humane and sustainable world for all animals—a world that will also benefit people. The Humane Society's mission is to Celebrate Animals, Confronting Cruelty. Hi relundad. Yes, I am a member of two organizations that care about nature and animals because I love animals and nature. I think that we need to give this a support since that the men have destroyed the most of them. I give also, by myself, a help for women that is in need and have children because I know how is hard keeping a child without any help. And these women lost the job and the partner and really need a help and when I know about one of this case I give a help. It is what I can do because I am not rich, but I think that I do my part in the world (at least I hope so lol). Cheers

Well, my husband and I tithe faithfully to the ministry to which we are associated. We also volunteer out time by directing the youth department, and also other auxillary business. Other than that I've wanted to become more involved in outside charity events, but haven't found the time. I need to just find the time though.

i volunteer at the local literacy council as a tutor, i do mostly computer tutoring but will cover most of all the other subject area's as well. I find it gives me a lot of enjoyment to be able to help them do something and learn something they didn't know before, and help them with a big peice of life
