Do men feel threatened when their (female) partner earns more money then them?

Ive seen many atricles about the males who dislike their partner to earn more money than they do,which in some ways I can understand..Man has always been seen as the breadwinner..the hunter and the gatherer..but in this day and age we have had to move along with the times and if life dictates that your partner may have a bigger income than you..then so be it...but men seem to have an issue with their pride...and thweir self worth...so I can see the argument from both sides of the fence really.We have had times when ive earnt far more than my hubby...but its never seemed to bother him very much..he just enjoyed the extra little benefits it gave him.
