Drawing Down The Moon

I went to the library the other day and checked out (among other things) "Drawing Down the Moon". I have read part of this years before, but never finished it. I have decided to try to finish it now, though that may be a task as I am a slow reader and it's a big book (not to mention that my library only allows one renewal). Now, I didn't post this to keep you all updated on my reading material, or even to commiserate about slow reading speeds, I was wondering how many of my Pagan brother's and sisters have read this book and your thoughts on it.

Hello darkDancer. It may be sound foolish but i can't help asking it. "I never have come across a book with such an interesting title. Can you explain a bit more about this book? what is it like?? i mean what kind of writing it is??" Then only i may be able to comment something relevant on it.

Ok, well, the book is sort of a history of the neo-Pagan movement. It describes different aspects of the various religions that fall under the umbrella of Paganism. Anyone who has read it more recently (and finished it) can probably give you a better overview of what the book is about.

Hey thanks for replying to the comment. Generally we don't get replies as fast as your one. i appreciate your comment and effort. Ok as far as the book is concerned, but i am still not sure what actually pagan and neo-paganism is. i may be knowing what it may mean, but i could be that i haven't related the actual act and its name. so please can you shed some light on what pagan means and what is neo-paganism??

Ok, hmm, this may be tough. The word Pagan and neo-Pagan are often used interchangeably, and since you didn't ask for the fuill story I will let it stand at that. Anyway, Paganism is an umbrella term for a group of religions. These religions tend to be polytheistic and Earth Centered. Some people say that a Pagan Religion is any religion that is not Abrahamic (a religion of the book, Judaism, Christianity, or Islam), some find that a little simplistic though. Wow, did that make any sense or did I lose you?

Have I actually Drawn Down the Moon? No, I've never participated in that ritual. I have (symbolically) done The Great Rite though. Twice.
