Companies to work for that are not scams?

I am a single mother/college student looking for ways that I can earn money online. Due to circumstances I cannot work out of my home, that's why I need to work online. My field of search includes data entry, transcription (of any sort), typing (of any sort). I am fully certified in Microsoft Office 2003, and have excellent typing, grammar, and listening skills. I am also very deadline oriented and hold myself to a strict no-excuses policy on deadlines. I have worked a little general transcription before, but once that was completed I've found it difficult to find any more work. :( Bills won't pay themselves so if anyone can help out on this I would appreciate it. By the way, yes I'm US based.
