I heard of so many parents who are complaining about the teachers who lack explanation in a certain topic and just give assignments or homework to the kids without explaining to them how to do the homework. They don't even give examples of how to dot it? How how terrible, You can just imagine the stress of the parents and students looking at the assignment and have no idea of how to do it. did you encounter something like this? Oh~~ my sister is now in this situation. Oftentimes when she got home and help her kids with their assignments, they don;t know what to do... Well, how did you mange to overcome it? =what I told her is to talk to the teacher about this problem. anymore ideas?

I think you have the right idea by having the student going to the teacher. However I would also suggest that the parent also ask for an interview with the teacher if this is a ongoing situation. It may require that you need to go to their superior to resolve the issue.

It is the right thing to do for parents to go and talk to the teacher. Not complaining to other parents or to the principal without talking to the teacher first. The proper protocol is to see the teacher regarding the problem and if they could not resolve it, they will proceed to the principal.

Oh yes, I really encountered a lot of that because I am one parent who really monitor the assignment of my child and when that happens, I see to it that I call the teacher and tell her of this problem in way that she won't get offended. I think this really helps because it gives the teacher the idea that we mothers are concerned and they will be careful the next time around.

Oh!! that is good my friend. I admire parents who are like that. Not just get upset when there is problem with their kids specially when it comes to assignment. Well, then, teachers also must see to it that they had explained it well, before giving any work to do at home as exercises.

I have had that happen so many times. The problem is that the teachers are just over worked and in a few cases unexperienced. The state picks the lesson plan and the time frame for it to get done in but then they cram a ton of kids in to each class and expect them to be able to handle the kids and teach the lesson properly. The teachers that still care are driving them selves nuts trying to help everyone, and the rest have just given up. I help my kids as best as I can and then turn to the internet. That's one reason I enrolled my older two in Florida Virtual School the teachers have less students so they are able to do more with each kid all they have to do is call. I'm sorry if that turned into a rant but I understand both the parents side and the teachers side of the story and firmly believe that more teachers and smaller classes would fix most of this problem. And yes I am willing to pay the extra taxes to cover ot. Our kids are worth it.
