yahoo...i got star with a reputation of 8.wat does this mean??

When you make over 100 posts on mylot, you will see what your star rating is. The color of the star is a match with the number in it and it represents your mylot rating. The mylot rating is determined by the posts you make. As you might have already seen, there are + and - options near every post and that means you can rate a post plus or minus. If people keep giving you positive ratings then your number will increase and the color will change accordingly. For example if you reach 9, it will be red and if you reach 10 it will be blue. Although there are many users who really care about the star rating, it is not as popular as it used to be because many people believe it is not fair enough. There are many reasons behind that. For example people might give you negative just because you doN't agree with them and a person with a few friend might target you and tell all his (or her) friends to rate you down and you will lose your stars. Hopefully the rating system is nothing with the earnings. Otherwise it would create a real madness here. Personally, I don't care about my star rating anymore after seing the situation above. When I mentioned my political views people usually rated me down instead of having a discussion and it is why I lost my star rating from 9 to 8. There are many worse examples of that you might find it soon. So,I suggest you not to care about your star rating so much and don't make prejudgements about the star rating of other people. However, you still should keep your posts informative and descriptive. That is the concept here ;) happy mylotting

The Star Rating is the Additional Recognition provided to all the members those who posted the 100 postings (discussions/responses).. and also this will be determined purely based on the other members of mylot's Rating.. The Star Rating is between 1 and 10 based on the rating which you received for your postings by our mylot members. The Rating are like as follows:You can find the "+" Positive, "-" Negative nearby all discussions and the responses (other than your discussions/responses, because you are elegible to rate your discussions and your responses), this "+" and "-" only will determine your Star Rating in mylot. If the other mylot members those who visit your discussions and the responses, if they like your the same, if they will give you the "+" rating, then your Rating will get the positive result, and like the same, if they dont like the discussions/responses and give you the "-" rating, then your rating will get the negative result. If you get more "+" positive in a day, your rating will get improved on that day, the same will reflect in your Star Rating in the next day. and also If you get more "-" Negative rating in a day, your rating will come down and the same will reflect in your Star Rating in the next day.. This is how the Rating will get fluctuate. I wish you to get the Star 10 Soon..

hello busyboy, congratulations! Finally you reached your 100th post and what? You've got a a yellow star which is an 8. That's a good start. I got an 8 also when I reached my 100th post. The stars represents our reputation and they are color coded. A blue star is the highest which is a 10. Red star is 8, while a yellow star is 8. White star is 7, a green star is 5, and so on. This star represents how the other members rate our discussions and responses. So a star of 8 is already very good. Keep it up and have fun posting! Next goal will be your 200th post so you could use the 'mylot code' for smileys...

Well, a white star means that their reputation is 7 out of 10 and a yellow star means that your reputation is 8 out of 10. Thats pretty good, when I first got my star it was an 8! The higher the nimber the better your reputation is. Cheers, Tianna
