Did anybody try this trick?

Hey guys I think most of you guys must have tried this trick open Microsoft word and type this: =rand(200,98) and than press enter? And see the strange output. Can anybody explain this strange thing?

The first number stands for number of paragraphs. If you go to Word Count, you will see that the text will be formatted into 200 paragraphs. The second function stands for number of sentences in each paragraph. Write a smaller number than 98, like 9,so it will be more viewable - you will see that the text will be formatted with 200 paragraphs, 9 sentences each. I think this is a test feature.

yup!it seems logical.......it may be a test feature...but what are they testing in the final product.....

That is wierd! Wow, I certainly never expected what I got. I don't know how it happens, but will be interested to see if anyone can explain this. Somebody at Microsoft had fun programing that one in I think. I wonder why they did it? Violetdreams

Thanks for this interesting experiment. I think the output is part of a Help file but I don't understand how the program comes to interprete a simple text as a command. Did you try to change the parameters -200,98- ? Just let me spare a little time and I'll try to find out how this affects the result.
