Hey moonlitmagikchild, i think the directors for the new Batman movies had been trying to start a new series as the past batman movies had been really bad. I think the previous Batman movie which is Batman Begins is where they start all over. I think it's a good move but some people may feel bored with seeing it being done all over again. However, I am really looking forward for the new Batman movie. :D

The new ones are a whole new series & aren't anywhere as campy & comical as the older ones. These are respectable action movies.

Each Batman movie can stand on its own, but can also tie together. They are just good movies if you like superhero movies, otherwise, you probably won't like them. To each his/her own I would say.
