I'm getting fed up with ants. They are here and there and it seems I can't eradicate them despite using insecticides like sevin, baygon, etc. They are climbing up and infesting my stocks of food and even if I would kill them one time, another ones would come later. Do have useful tips to help me out with this trouble? Thanks!

I just read the cleaning with a solution of vinegar and water will stop ant problems. I haven't tried it but I am going to. We have ants in our house as well and I have tried everything short of a professional exterminator.

we have the same problem also..when our food is left in the table it will be surely be infested by ants..so what we do is place the plate with food in a plate with water so that the ants can't climb it..then we always clean our table with soap..but still ants are all over our house i think they have build a home inside our house and sometimes my grand mother out them on fire but they still comes back afterward.

Ants - Put some salts on ants cave to get them scared.
I guess we could not kill them all but at least minimize them. My wife is claiming one day, because she saw plenty of ants coming from our rice sack and they have their own seed carried to their home. What I have done is get our vacuum and had fun with them. We put some salts on their cave.

I feel for ya Salonga! The ants are taking over here in north carolina too! I lived in an older house about a year ago and the ants were EVERYWHERE! I thought if I moved into something newer and with less ways for them to get in that would be the end of my ant problem. Boy was I wrong! I live in a house thats about a year old and they are just as present here as they were in my old house. However, I did find a way that controls the population BIG TIME! The best part is that you dont have to use any chemicals. Ants send out what are called "scouts" these scouts find the food and leave a scent trail so that all thier buddies will find the food that the scout found. What you do is wipe your counters, tables, everywhere that you see ants trailing around, wipe it down with vinegar. I use white vinegar, but I guess any kind may work. The vinegar gets rid of the scent trail and the ants hate the smell. You will have to do this every 2-3 days though because ants are persistant little buggers. You can also leave some dry grits where you see the ants gathering the most. The ants will eat this and take it back to the colony. The grits swell in thier little ant tummies and kills them. Kind of like rice to a bird. I hope this helps.
