A woman found a nine foot boa constrictor in her yard when she went looking for her cat. Unfortunately, the snake had eaten her cat. Some great pictures here. http://www.wftv.com/slideshow/news/16720779/detail.html

Irresponsible pet owner. why is it that dogs have leash laws, yet cats can run free allover and get hit by cars or eaten, becasue owners are TO LAZY to control their pet, walk it like us dog owners have to, etc..? Good LEASH LAWS for cats should be in place, the smae as they are for dogs! I do not want YOUR cat in my yard..they drive my dogs crazy. And why should I have to put up wiht your cat in my yard, when I do ont happpen to like them? Your cat, your problem! Control your cats. Kep them in the house and kitty litter box train them..or keep them on a leash and in your own yard. Tooo bad this cat did not have a responsible owner?

You must have had some problems in the past with cat owners. This particular cat owner was looking in her own back yard for the cat. The snake had gone into her back yard and ate her pet. Freaky!

That is one big boa. Wonder how long it's been living by itself. I feel for this woman losing her pet to this snake. I wonder if the cat tried to defend itself unless it had no claws. But then, constrictors are quick in wrapping themselves around a potential meal so it may not of had a chance in a million of survivial.

That is so sad! I would be crying if a snake had eaten my cat. I definately will not let my cats outside! They are indoor pets and that is where they are going to stay!

This is terrible and very unfortunate that this woman's cat became lunch for the boa constrictor. But this is one of may reasons why cats should be in door cats. If someone wants their cat to go outside then they should be on a leash. It's all for safety. I love cats. But there are too many of them that get hit and injured or killed by cars etc. If you love your cat, please make him or her and indoor cat. Best to do this in the winter. It's easier for them to adjust.

I cant imagine someone letting a snake that size go. I at one time had pythons this size and bigger. I cant imagine Lucifer or big Bessie out in someones yard. Lucifer was 9ft 2 inches and Bessie was 12ft 2 inches. Medusa was 7ft 6in. Too bad about the ladys cat , i would be heartbroken if something like that happened to old Ruby.

That was a big snake. I really think people need to start researching the Boas before purchasing them. It's sad about her cat, but it really wasn't the snakes fault, but the owner who let the snake go.

That's an absoluely beautiul snake, but I think it is a real shame abou what happened to the poor woman's ca. I would be really upset i my cat or any oher pet go eatn by another animal. I hope that the pet owner paid the consequences for letting that sake get loose.

Sadly, this wouldn't load for me. The poor kitty. It must be very frightening to be taken in by a snake...it would be scary and then very painful I imagine.

Wow if I found on of those in my back yard I would be afraid to go back ever again. I am deadly afraid of snakes espically on that big. If we have one it would have eaten my 6 lb dog. He would have been a meal for the snake.
