I got a VIRUS from a PTC site

I joined 2 PTC sites and ended up with a VIRUS. It was called the backdoor virus. I ended up paying $120 to get my computer fixed and my cd burner got fried. My compurter had to be restored. None of it was worth it. Make sure if any of you join any of the sites you have all your scans up to date and on. The only way I can think I got the virus is that my niece had got on my computer and had turned off my scan when she had done the clicks for me. I always have my scanners on otherwise. Please be careful guys.

Hi Sheribabe, hope you don't mind, but could you please share and let us know which sites? So that we don't go into the same sites and get our computers attacked by the viruses. Thanks!

Which sites? Always make sure you use spy-ware protection and virus protection while online. That applies no matter where you go on the net.

Yes you have to be careful with those sites, I had my techy do some sort of scan on my computer and he found a lot of strange things and I actually saw something come in as he was doing it, I gave all those sites away as it is not worth the time when you have to take the risk of getting viruses and or not even get paid for your trouble because the greedy owners close up shop before payout...I prefer to stay here...

Wow! That really stinks :( It seems as if there just aren't any sites these days that are 100% safe, they all seem to have adware or spyware or worms of some sort. You really do need to have that anti-virus program running all the time.
