I remember when i was growing up if i disrespected my mom, talked back to my mom or threw a temportantrum that i was it. i was grounded. Kids now-a-days have no respect for their elders at all! i am constantly putting my son on punishment because he figures he can talk to me like other kids talk to there parents and i was not raised to deal with that kind of behavior. has anyone else noticed the difference in how kids respect there parents these days?

Things have definitely changed! We did not talk to m oment my dad walked through that door from work. He wanted quiet and we did say a word. Now, kids are screaming and yelling, telling off their parents. I asked my mom if we acting like that when we were growing up. She said that we did not do half the things being done now. Kids have it hard. It is hard for them to find good friend, ids that aren't bad influences...even in church. I don't know about you, but i feel like I am fighting a losing battle.

Yea kids these days i guess dont realize what we went thru growing up and how easy they have it now. maybe when they get older they will see what we went thru when they have to go thru it with their own kids.

Kids do have it a lot easier today. Sometimes I wonder if that's the reason things are like they are. It is so hard for kids to find good friends that wont influence them in a bad way. I even started buying books to try and fingure something out that would help me with teaching the kids how to be respectful.

yeah the kids today are extremly very brave to actually talk to their parent they way they do sometimes , like for example the Nanny and the Wife Swap shows are just a window into what these kids are like , i dont see why the parents wont take action and slap some sense into their kids ,

i wont watch the nanny because my 2 year old will watch and try to do what those kids do and i wont tolerate it. lol so if i watch it i have to make sure he is occupied doing something else but if he is in the room i wont watch it.
