What is the most powerful but under-appreciated way we can shape the future?

It is the role of the parents in molding their children. Many parents have left the molding process to maids, to teachers and to other people in their house or community not knowing that it is their responsibility to train up their children in the right way because this is a very delicate task given by God to them. The children today are the future of tomorrow and if they are properly molded and trained today, we can expect a better future ahead of us. The parents are the preeminent force for change in the world and this is captured in the oft quoted William Ross poem with the line, "The hand that rocks the cradle is the hand that rules the world." What an important job parents do have! The parents of the next generation are the ones who are molding the future. Who knows what an impact that child may have on the lives of many others one day? A parent's influence is by no means the only influence which is exerted. Still it may be the most powerful; for, with God's ordinary blessing, it may form in the youthful mind the habits, and implant the principles, to which other influences are to give permanency and vigor. And those would bring about a better future. Sad to say however, that this important factor have been overlooked by many.
