Itchy Body Wash but I still like it!

As most of you probably know, I make my own handmade soap. I use that all the time. But there are times where I just want to use a body wash too. The thing is that body wash, it doesn't matter what kind, makes me itch. But it does leave me smelling good. You would think I wouldn't use it but about once a month I use it, itch for a bit, and go on with my day smelling pretty. The scents usually linger longer than bar soap which I like. I just don't like the itching part. Anyway, I'm on a quest to not itch and use a body wash once in awhile. I just wanted to know what kind of body wash you all use...What are your favorite brands or scents? Do you itch too but use it anyway? What are your body wash stories? Thanks for reading.

Actually bar soap makes me itchy I figured it was caused by dry skin that using the bar start causes. I love using body washes and I have a few favorites. I like using the body wash from Avon and also Olay and Dove body washes Olay being the best in my opinion. I just cannot afford to get it as often as I want it and so I settle for the cheaper brands. I guess all the counts is if you get clean or not. You can always add the scents later with lotions and perfumes. I love buying things that smell alike the shower gels, body wash, lotions, perfume, powders. It just makes me feel pampered when I go all out and wash, lotion, powder and perfume myself.

My absolute favorite shower body wash/gel from Avon is the Vanilla scented it just centers me somehow. I also get the lotion and body spray that is vanilla also. For christmas last yearmy sister in law bought me the Banana/coconut body wash, shower gel, and lotion. I haven't used it much since I have about 3 bottles of the vanilla and 2 of the Tangerine kind as well.

Commercial bar soap can make people itch with all the chemicals. It does dry out the skin a lot. I like the Avon washes. I do fine with those and I really love the banana/coconut milk one. :) Just ordered some! I love to feel pampered during my bath as well. It's probably my most favorite thing in the world. Thanks for stopping by hun!

Never had any real problem with body washes that made me really itchy after using them. Have had a few that have dried out my skin really bad, but I just never used those one's again..lol. My favorites are any of the Suave or Herbal Essences lines. There is a body lotion though that Olay makes that I have found that makes me very itchy, dries out my skin, and I overall just don't like. That being Quench. It's scent is fine, for smaller portions of the body, but for an entire body lotion to me it becomes to over powering. I'm not all that fond of over powering scents as it is, since when it gets to that point, it makes it really hard for me to breathe.Than after applying it, it felt like I had be bitten by a million mosquitoes. Itched for a week and thought I was gonna go crazy from it.

Ouch, sounds like a bad lotion. I have never used that one and I won't now. :) I like Suave but have never tried the Herbal Essences. I can only seem to use the Suave Sandalwood and Cinnamon and the cocoa and shea washes. Those are the only 2 that don't make me itch by them. Thanks for the response.

I like Bath and Body Works too. Those don't make me itch but they dry my skin out. :( I like Suave stuff. I haven't used Sweet Pea, but I do like Sandalwood and Cinnamon, even though it doesn't smell like either. It still smells nice and it doesn't make me itch.

This might sound weird, but my favorite body wash is one I get at Aldi, it's called Rainfresh. It's really cheap, doesn't have much of a smell, (which is one thing I like about it) and leaves my skin feeling amazingly soft. Check it out - not much fragrance though, and you seem to like that aspect. I prefer to use my perfume for my fragrance, ya know? Except for the soaps I get from you, that have the most incredible scent to them - I love using them, and they're all I'm using these days. I'll be ordering my gardenia soap soon, if you've got it made yet. I think you're making some olive oil and some goatsmilk, yes? Ah, can't remember! Too much in my mind these days, but I'll contact you about it soon. XXX

Contact me about the soap- I will make it fresh. If you want Goats Milk tell me now. I just made some Goats Milk Cold Process Soap which came out amazing in 7 different flavors. I have some olive oil and gm unscented for you as well. By the way, I love the rainbath hand soap. I haven't tried the body wash but I might. I love Aldi!! Nice to see you my friend. I have been away so sorry I didn't respond sooner.

I don't use a body wash, but use dial soap and a good smelling lotion.. I do love my good strong smelling lotion.. If I am using perfumes, I use an unscented lotion but if I am not using perfume, then I go all out and use a heavily fragranced lotion.. I did use to use an Oil of Olay body wash, but after I put my lotion on I couldn't smell it any more so I figured I was throwing my money away and just went back to my soap and lotion..

That's pretty much me. I use whatever soap (always handmade) and a stinky lotion though you don't need it with most of the soap I use. I just like the smells of the lotion. I'm constantly trying new ones and I can't seem to decide on a favorite though. There are too many around I guess.

I use any that I find! lol I just buy what ever is on offer such as buy one get one free or half price bottles so I never seem to have the same ones in the house! However if I had to say one I do like it would be Dove as it's very 'fresh' smelling and makes my skin feel soft! x

You sound like me. :) Dove had made me itch but my skin was soft and it smelled good. It has that going for it. I still use it on occasion. I guess I'm a glutton for punishment.

SkinnyC my body washes are helter skelter... LMAo I am not sure I have a favorite brand. I tend to buy what ever is on sale... The ones I absolutely hate however are ones that have those little scrubbing pearls in them, shesh you feel like you are washing with sand and I dislike strongly feeling it on my bare skin. I know it is suppose to serve as an exfoliating agent but as far as I am concerned they can leave it out! I will be calling on ya to send me some goats milk soap soon... I am just trying to finish what soap is in the house first.

I have a ton of new goat milk scents too. I have been working hard. :) My body washes and soaps are the same way. A big mish mosh of handmade and commercial made. There are many decisions to be made at bath time. :)

I don't have a body was story Skinny, except for the time that I used hair removal cream instead of shower gel! I want you to bring out your own line. Then I'll use that. Until then it will have to be whichever is the smelliest cheap one.
