I was wondering if you know any really nice places to hoilday in England. My fiancee wont go on a plane or a boat so it looks like our honeymoon will be spent in the UK. Im really not happy about it. I was hoping to go on a tour of Europe and visit Italy Paris Amsterdam Berlin and many more places. I saw the perfect European tour olnine but he wont go. We have rung the travel agents and they have found a nice log cabin with a hot tub in the Yorkshire Dales, but I really dont want to go there. Its too close to home as I Live in South Yorkshire. Can anyone recommend anywhere in the UK? Scotland, England or Wales. Thank you :)

Well I live in Durham which I think is beautiful but I think I'm a bit biased! Have you thought about London?? You could take in all the sights and stuff there cos it's huge! Or if your fiance won't go by plane or boat, you could go to Belguim or France by Eurostar. Brussels is lovely but quite quiet and I couldn't tell you about France cos I've never been! Good luck, I hope you find somewhere great. :)

That's awful! I couldn't live without my yearly holiday overseas. Maybe you should try a seaside town then - I've heard Brighton is supposed to be fun. I guess it depends whether you want to chill out or see lots of places.

You may like to visit Cotswold if you enjoy a "countryside" atmosphere as it is designated as one of England's "Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty".

How about the Lake District? It is beautiful, but it does rain alot! The North East Coast is lovely as well - Kielder Water, Alnwick, Bamburgh Castle(gorgeous beach). It's a shame your fiancee won't go abroad, I've always though Paris would be the ideal place to go to for a honeymoon.

We stayed in a log cabin in the Loch Lomand area of Scotland. It is stunningly beautiful. We went to Largs for the day which is a seaside town, and Luss where they make "Take the High Road". How about a Centre Parcs? They have a tropical indoor pool area with a sun lounge, you can get luxury cabins with a spa, and they have a health spa with a sauna and beauty treatments at the one in Sherwood Forest. Almost a beach holiday without the beach! If you are outdoorsy, there are loads of activities like archery and falconry. The resturants are nice too. I know it is a little pricey, but this is a special holiday!
