Moving on rituals

Spain

Tomorrow I'm flying back to London after four relaxing and adventuresome months in France and Southern Spain. So I'm packing up and readying myself psychologically for the wave of culture shock which will break over me when I step off the train at King's Cross Station. When leaving a place I always pack slowly and methodically, allowing the memories of the people and places I've seen to flow with each item I place in the bag. When this is done, I often take a look online at my destination, running through any plans I might have made for my stay. I've found this ritual can lessen the culture shock considerably. Do you have any habits or rituals - quirky, funny, solemn etc - you fall into upon leaving, or arriving at, a place?
