Grown Folks Business

On a Saturday afternoon Cybil a mother of two is taking a daily strol with ther children, as she passes her neighbors house she witnessed her being punched, slapped and kicked by her husband. Her first impluse was to cover her kids's eyes and walk away, her kids asked "mommy why was that man hitting on Mrs. Williams"; she told them they were just playing a game. Their were numerous of times after that day Cybil witnessed Mrs. Williams being beaten by her husband, certain things startede to make sense why she always wore long sleeves in the summer, and why for years she could hear screaming and shouting coming from her house. For months Cybil could not sleep wondering how her neighbor was doing, she wondered should she call the cops next time, but the days of her mother telling her to stay out of grown folk's business justified her decision. Cybil did every thing to avoid Mrs. Williams, she walked on the opposite side of the street, when she saw her at the grocery store she made no eye contact and tried to leave the grocery store as fast as possible A phone call would forever change Cybil's life, the private investigator she hired to find her birth mother called to say he found out her birth mother was on a mission trip in Africa she could not be reached by phone and was not sure when she was coming back to the states. The prate investigator also found her biological sister, he told her you will not believe this but your sister lives next door to you , and her name is Tiffany Williams. Cybil quickly hung up the phone, told the kids she will be right back, locked the door and ran towards her neighbors house. She would find police officers, ambulance etc..., she came to find out her sister was killed by her husband and then found her mother was killed years agao by her sister's husband and buried in the back yard. In complete disbelief she walked back home, when she open the door her daughter layed on the floor with her son standing over her. He looked up and said "mommy I was playing the punching, slapping and kicking game, but she will not get up" her son had kicked his little sister to death You would think after a story like this , she would crawl into a whole and die. of course, the grieving process took a while. Cybil accepted Christ as her personal savior became a life coach, a humanitarian and created a non profit organization to help shelter women who are victims of abuse;her mission is to stay in grown folks business. One may say why I would share a story like this. Well, sometimes in life we take for granted the blessings in our life, after hearing something so inspirational, all the other problems in our life seems pail in comparsions.
