breakfast before or after morning exercise?

i read somewhere that you should take a very light meal first before exercising to prevent your sugar level from getting too low and to give you enough energy throughout your routine. and then after exercising, you take a heavier meal that should be heavier than the rest of the meals you would take the entire day. do you follow this?

I usually have aa piece of fruit or an ensure before exercising and then oatmeal with berries or fiberone with vanilla activa and raspberries. If you get your grains and fiber in, it is the most filling meal of the day.

My nutritionist say to eat 1/2c. oatmeal and 1/2c.fruit before exercise and then eat your normal meals the rest of the day.
